The Summer Before acts as a prequel to The Baby-Sitters' Club series. Published in 2010, it focuses on Kristy, Claudia, Mary Anne, and Stacey the summer between sixth and seventh grade. In the very last chapter Kristy gets her 'Great Idea' to start The BSC.
